Sha'a Gi

Sha'a Gi was a Human Jedi Knight during the last years of the Old Republic when the Clone Wars destroyed the Jedi. Born on Ord Biniir, Sha'a Gi's Force-potential was discovered by Jedi Master Daakman Barrek who took the young boy to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi. Years later Sha'a Gi would be apprenticed to Master Barrek. During his training, Sha'a Gi lagged behind his classmates in the development of the physical and mental skills of a Jedi. These shortfalls fostered the growth of doubt in his abilities and fear when required to work on his own. However, Sha'a Gi discovered that he was especially adept in dealing with computer systems and technology. Upon his elevation to Jedi Knight, Sha'a Gi hoped to work in the Jedi Archives in a role that would capitalize on his talents.

Just prior to the Clone Wars, Sha'a Gi worked with Master Barrek in the Outer Rim to gather information on pirate activities and disrupt their operations. These missions did much to boost Sha'a Gi's self-confidence and belief in his abilities. Shortly after the eruption of the Clone Wars, Sha'a Gi and Master Barrek discovered a massive battle droid manufacturing operation on the planet of Hypori. Sending word to the Jedi, a massive task force, led by Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi, was assigned to Hypori to destroy the secret factory. Unfortunately, the operation was directed by a new Separatist commander named General Grievous. Formerly a Kaleesh, Grievous was reborn in an armored carapace and trained in the art of swordsmanship making him more than a match for any Jedi.

General Grievous made short work of the Jedi task force sent to Hypori, razing the fleet while it was still in orbit. The Jedi were forced to make a crash landing on the surface and surrounded by thousands of battle droids and super battle droids, Sha'a Gi and the Jedi took shelter in the massive wreckage of the Republic cruiser. As the battle droids and Grievous closed in, Daakman Barrek was one of the first casualties of the battle having been killed by Grievous' himself.
